The story, A Clean, Well-Lighted Place, has been written by Ernest Hemingway. In the short story, an old man stayed late in some cafe and kept on drinking beer. These waiters said that the old man was probably eighty years old and was looked after by his niece. And, that man also tried to commit suicide due to feelings of despair and was rescued by his relatives.
Then, the younger waiter forced the old man to leave the cafe because he wanted to go home for sleep. The younger waiter had a wife too who was waiting for him. And, the elder waiter also felt the need for a place like some cafe which he closed with the younger waiter. So, he went into a coffee bar and bought some coffee for himself. Then, he came out and walked towards his home. The elder waiter was also facing the issue of slumber like the old man.

Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) was a famous American novelist. He was one of the great 20th century novelists. Also, he’s well-known for some of his works like “The Sun Also Rises” and “A Farewell to Arms”. During his oldage, he committed suicide.
